UNIQUE FEATURE
The dynamic nature of Political Science papers in UPSC has been on an increasing curve in recent times. The recent papers of 2019 and 2020 testify this.
Almost 50% of the paper was current based. Questions like Multipolarity, Human Rights and Data, Brahmaputra issue, PMO, National Commission on Women to name a few were inspired from events .
The good thing about such questions is it prepares a candidate even for GS questions. But the preparation for such questions in Political Science differs slightly along with the usual overlaps. In political science one needs to link theoretical aspects with the current issues. Making such linkages in answers helps a candidate fetch more marks.
For example, the human rights and big data question can be linked to Frankfurt school and their views on consumerism.
But this skill does not come in a day. It first needs clarity about the concept and then follows the application part.
Understanding this need of students, we will be doing the interlinkage classes separately.
In these classes following things will be taught
- Important current affairs topics related to Political Science from newspapers will be picked
- They will be explained and important points will be provided on those topics in class which can be easily used for revision during the exams.
- These points will come in handy for GS paper 2 as well.
- Most importantly integration with theoretical concepts will be done and also tricks will be provided to learn the art of linking things.
